The Globe and Mail had an article today about a new Ubuntu version in the works. (I think the headline writer screwed up.) It's good to see a Linux distribution's release covered in the mainstream press.
There's going to be a Montreal Dapper Launch Party, which sounds like a lot of fun.

More more more more structured data
I'm psyched to see that Tantek Çelik has announced a Technorati has put up a blog post introducing Microformats search and pingerati.
The Microformats search indexes several microformats from blog posts and home pages and lets you search on them. I think that's pretty cool.
Of more interest (to me at least) is the Pingerati microformats ping aggegator. It lets content creators ping a single URL when they update a microformats-enabled page, and multiple content aggregators receive the ping. That's really really hip.

Computer hardware shopping annoyance
I find it really trying when computer retailers and manufacturers have Web sites that divide their products into:
- Home products
- Business solution
I'm looking for an ultraportable notebook. Is that a home product or a business solution? Why should I care? They have to have other ways to let you get at product lists than navigating through what you think that they think that you might understand.
