Journal/23 Fructidor CCXIV from Evan Prodromou

I noted the new WikiOhana wiki yesterday, but I forgot to mention the great new project for making a wiki-text "interlanguage" -- an Esperanto for Wiki markup. The WikiCreole project aims to establish a lowest-common-denominator text formatting languages that can be implemented as "everybody's second language" in different Wiki engines.

The hope is that users from one wiki can edit pages on another wiki relatively easily, given their familiarity with the interlang. I think it's a great idea (another one of Ward Cunningham's good ideas, or at least partly his), and I hope it gets some traction. This is one of the areas that has really hurt wiki uptake -- TooManyWikiEngines that don't work well together.
