I'm extremely excited to see that Creative Commons Salon Montreal will be launching on Thursday 20 July. The event will be at Le Pistol, 3723 St. Laurent, 7PM. Should be extremely fun -- Marcus Bornfreund, national director of CC Canada, will be there, and he's always good to see and talk to.

Camping
We're heading off to the Mauricie for a weekend of camping at the Réserve faunique de St.-Maurice. It's extremely difficult to get any camping reservations for the second half of July in Quebec, since it's the official Construction Holiday. This is a 2-week work holiday built into the union contracts of most (all?) construction workers in Quebec, as well as for many other unionized works.
Which means that most Quebec vacation spots are completely packed for this period -- especially ones that are affordable. I managed to get us a weekend in St.-Maurice, which apparently has great lake swimming, but it's raining cats and dogs right now in Montreal, so it might not be such a fun trip. I promised Maj we'd get out of the city this weekend, though -- they're predicting highs of 35C.
