Registration for Wikimania 2006 just opened up today. I'm pretty happy that my proposed presentation on "Wiki and open content travel guides: past, present, future" was accepted for the program; now I just have to figure out something to say.
We were unable to attend Wikimania 2005 last year; Maj was 8-1/2 months pregnant with Amita at the time, so she couldn't fly. I didn't have the gambler's spirit to fly halfway around the world to Frankfurt, betting that the baby wouldn't be born while I was away. So, we missed WM2005.
But 2006 looks to be really exciting; there are a lot of people on the speakers' program who will be fun to talk to, and there are a lot of longtime Wikimedians that I look forward to meeting face-to-face. There's going to be a hackathon just before the conference, so hopefully we'll knock out some cool features for August.
Now I just have to figure out how to get to Wikisym 2006 in Odense.

Site changes
I finally got around to building a tag for making French Revolutionary Calendar months on the Journal section of this site. I'm not sure it'd be useful for anyone else, but it sure does clean up that page.
I experimented with doing a full-text RSS feed, too, but it turned out to be a real broken experience. I guess the XML that WiLiKi and Gauche emit is real, real bad. So I backed off, and now I'm using just the first-paragraph thing again.
